Shares of Apple were down a relatively modest 0.6% on Tuesday, but their one-week slump of nearly 6% was driven by concern about a seasonal decline in iPhone production. The company reports earnings after the bell on Thursday.

Tuesday’s trading session more than wiped out gains notched over the past week. The index has now fallen 0.5% over five sessions, after setting fresh record closes on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. However, it is up 5.5% for the month with one trading day remaining.
